Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 29 April 2026
1. Scope
This policy applies to Bracton one-time digital purchases and monthly subscriptions.
2. One-time digital purchases (£49)
One-time purchases are charged once and do not renew. Bracton supplies digital content immediately after checkout where requested.
Where you have expressly requested immediate digital supply, and supply has begun, refunds are not available except where required by law or where Section 6 of this policy applies.
3. Subscription access (£29/month) — 14-day money-back guarantee
If you cancel your subscription within 14 days of your first subscription payment, you are entitled to a full refund of that first payment, regardless of how many documents you have generated during that period. To claim, contact support@bracton.org from the email address associated with your account within 14 days of the first charge.
This guarantee applies only to the first subscription payment. Subsequent monthly renewals are not covered by the 14-day guarantee.
4. Subscription renewals and cancellation
Subscription plans renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel renewal at any time via the billing portal or by contacting support@bracton.org.
Cancellation prevents future billing and takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Outside the 14-day window in Section 3, charges already paid for the current billing period are non-refundable except where required by law or where Section 6 applies.
5. UK cooling-off and digital content exception
If you are a consumer, you may usually have a 14-day cancellation right for distance contracts. For digital content not supplied on tangible media, this right may be lost once supply begins if you requested immediate access and acknowledged that cancellation rights would be affected. The 14-day money-back guarantee in Section 3 sits alongside, and does not replace, your statutory rights.
6. Exceptional refund review
We may provide a refund or account credit, at our discretion, where there is clear evidence of:
• Duplicate or incorrect billing;
• Unauthorised payment confirmed after reasonable verification; or
• Material technical failure on Bracton's side that prevented initial access after purchase.
7. Chargebacks and dispute handling
Before initiating a chargeback, contact support@bracton.org so we can investigate and resolve the issue. Where a chargeback is raised, we may suspend access while the payment dispute is pending.
8. Contact and request window
Refund requests should be submitted to support@bracton.org with your account email, transaction date, and reason for request as soon as possible after the issue arises.
